The size and speed graphs from 1950 to 2022 essentially shape an exponential but are already shown at log scale. There must be a word for that?

- nmca 4y agosuper-exponential?
- amphitoky 4y agolog log linear? :D
- wcoenen 4y agoThat would be a "double exponential function". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_exponential_function https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_exponential_function
- gattilorenz 4y agoUnrelated to your question, but the tweet "AI research has been heating up for years, with no signs of slowing down" is a bit disingenuous by showing stuff happening only after 2010 (while "parameters for machine learning models" are shown from 1950 onwards). There's been multiple AI winters, and it would be wise not to sweep them under the rug.
