I found this: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=546696 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=546696 List of 74 URL Shortening Sites
Of the one I tried,
*Non-responsive / parked domain:*
https://b23.ru/ https://b23.ru/
https://canurl.com/ https://canurl.com/
https://cli.gs/ https://cli.gs/
https://decenturl.com/ https://decenturl.com/
https://www.dolop.com/ https://www.dolop.com/
https://dwarfurl.com/ https://dwarfurl.com/
https://easyurl.net/ https://easyurl.net/
https://elfurl.com/ https://elfurl.com/
http://freak.to/ http://freak.to/
https://is.gd/ https://is.gd/
https://ix.lt/ https://ix.lt/
https://kl.am/ https://kl.am/
*Has become (or always was) Facebook:*
https://ff.im/ https://ff.im/
*Makes point about taking itself offline because of abuse:*
https://www.flq.us/ https://www.flq.us/
*Not about short URLs anymore:*
https://idek.net/ https://idek.net/
*Seems to still be a short URL service:*
https://bit.ly/ https://bit.ly/
https://www.bl.ink/ https://www.bl.ink/
https://fire.to/ https://fire.to/ - Video only?
What makes your service worth not just paying for, but using, given the high shakeout and/or (preventing abuse, being forced offline) barriers to entry? Is there an endowment? Money set aside? Part of a larger team or workable abuse mechanisms? Ambivalent hosting environment?
Does the 'domain' option allow self-hosting? How does that work as a subscription service?
