They certainly want to benefit from the resources in Ukraine that they're trying to annex (although I'll admit it certainly doesn't look like they are ever going to achieve their goals and benefit from actually conquering the country as they planned, if that's what you meant.)

The only resource that Russia is running out of is people.

  Russia lost something like 27 million dead in WWII. The most recent figure I can find for this war (from November) is 100,000 dead. Russia has plenty of people remaining they can throw into the meat grinder.
