As a VP I had some conflicts with subordinate managers who were super anxious and transferred their anxiety on their own teams. Basically they had no clue how to solve problems due to not being technical and as a consequence made their whole teams neurotic like they were. I typically had to take over for a while to cool down the team and shield them from their managers whereas managers were supposed to shield the team from me.
