> When Hogwarts Legacy was released in February, the verdict from video-game sites was close to unanimous: The latest spin-off from the Harry Potter series was a heartless mess, the product of a bigoted worldview, and playing it involved an uncomfortable act of moral compromise—or at least holding your nose and reassuring yourself that J. K. Rowling was not directly involved.
This opening paragraph is so laughably off the mark that I decided not to read the rest of the article because it’s likely clickbait. Critical opinion was nowhere near unanimously negative. It takes approximately 5 seconds of googling to disprove this assertion.

I browse a couple dozen 'news' sites each day, and I know my news feed was full of major press sites slamming the game. Wired's review was utterly pathetic (rated 1 out of 10), and several large newspaper organizations were not too far behind in their criticism. Heck, I canceled my sub to Wired just because of that horrific review; I figure if they let that kind of crap slide onto the top of their main page, they've fallen far enough that I don't need to support them anymore. As far as the Tech press goes, however, they mostly criticized the product for it's lack of optimization, as evidenced by the bench-marking results that were all over the place.
