LLMs transformer networks are successful because the intuition is likely representative of how human brains function, we we identify the important bits through repeated exposure. That being said, LLMs aren't doing anything crazy problem solving. If you use Chat GPT enough for somewhat complex problems, even in coding, you will see it fall short quite a bit.
