Italian government proposes legislation to ban English words in communications
- hunglee2 4y agothe Americanisation of global culture is something the French and the now the Italians have long been wary of. Without their own communications infrastructure, they are forced to use the tools of the US, and will therefore slowly be absorbed in the US culture. It's probably futile, but understandable

- jleyank 4y agoWhat’s Linux in Italian? Windows? Does this include language names? Language constructs? Do they accept product or company names or will they all have to be transliterated or have descriptive words attached like Quebec? Will they then legislate how to greet each other, etc? Far better to distract than dealing with substantive matters.
