- avgcorrection 4y agoLike contemporary language models, some HN commenters read the text itself in isolation and then extrapolate about “what that means” but then immediately jump to the conclusion that whatever real-world (beyond the text) that they imagine will eventually happen has in fact already happened—in effect they’re hallucinating.
