  No, ideologues almost always sincerely believe their ideology. The Iraq War was not started for anyone's oil money. And even if military capitalists profited from a war, the other 99% of capitalists in the country would find it a distraction at best.

    I'd reduce ideology to the fact that it's hard to make a man understand whatever is standing between him and his paycheck.

  you have it backwards, money is needed for war. This is a very old thing.

    And who provides this money? Does they do it for free? Where is this money funneled? To private hands more surely?
