I feel like there is some additional context missing. It's not like HN readers were spamming him, or flooding his platform. It's just, from what I gathered from this mastodon thread, that the people didn't read the article, resulting in comments on HN not being interesting enough for him. But blocking people just because they are reading HN and learning about Asahi through it seems kinda extreme and uncalled for.
