Tesla is probably an edge-case. Tesla's navigation has excellent support for Superchargers and even pre-conditions your battery a few minutes before you arrive at the charger for more efficient charging. There are ways to run CarPlay in the browser, and it works fine (plenty of videos about it), but it isn't enough of a value-add for people to want it.
