Source-available, not open source since its based on LLaMA.
- zhisbug 4y ago> We plan to release the model weights by providing a version of delta weights that build on the original LLaMA weights, but we are still figuring out a proper way to do so.
- jacooper 4y agoStill a derivative project though?
- Zuiii 4y agoLLaMA weights are effectively public domain data according to the criteria outlined in statement issued by the US copyright office two weeks ago [1]. Those weights are an original work that was created by a mechanical process that involved no human authorship and involved no creativity. Those weights are not copyrightable under current US law. I still wouldn't recommend basing anything serious on them until Meta gets taken to court for playing loose with the DMCA. - EamonnMR 4y agoLately I've seen 'Open Source' thrown around a lot in the AI space with little regard to if the thing in question is actually using an OSI license.
