Hey there, we appreciate your feedback, and we understand where you're coming from. Our intention wasn't to hurt anyone's feelings or disrespect the HN community. We just wanted to give a playful nudge and encourage a bit of self-reflection on how phone addiction might be impacting our lives and goals.
After all, we're in this together, and Snazz is here to help us regain control and stay focused on what truly matters. Apologies if the tone came across too harsh – we're all about self-improvement and support, not tearing people down.
Wishing you all the best, and may we continue to grow and build great things together!

- webmaven 4y ago"Regain control and stay focused on what truly matters" is a pretty good message to stick with, IMO.
- justindiraddo 4y agoThanks! No one ever mentions this about being founder but there are so many decent potential taglines for our product that it can be difficult to choose one! Would you have any feedback on our website and the verbiage we use there? Any ideas you may have?
- webmaven 4y agoI don't have specific feedback for you, but if you want to improve your value proposition and your messaging, I can recommend some books in the O'Reilly "Lean" series, specifically Ash Maurya's "Running Lean" and Cindy Alvarez's "Lean Customer Development".
- justindiraddo 4y agoawesome, will check those out! Are you a founder?
- verdverm 4y agoIf this is something you built and want HN to try out, Show HN is more appropriate. Clickbait titles are not the way to go, be clear about what it is and what makes it different. Why do I need this when I already have these types of per-app screen time controls in Android?
- justindiraddo 4y agoSounds good, my mistake! To answer your question on why Snazz is a great tool: -Personalized and Adaptive: Snazz uses smart metrics, adaptive milestones, and a toolbox of features to provide a personalized experience for each user. The app offers adaptive suggestions that improve focus sessions' effectiveness based on individual usage patterns, making it more relevant and practical for users. -Seamless Integration: Snazz leverages the iOS screen time API to create a seamless and smooth user experience, unlike some competitors that use VPNs, which can lead to buggy performance. -Engaging and Motivating: In the near future, we plan to develop sponsored-incentive programs and social competitions. This not only helps users stay motivated to develop better habits but also fosters a sense of community and accountability. We are first offering the application on iOS and will move cross-platform / onto android quickly thereafter. Thanks for getting back to me!
