- nirse 4y agoBeautiful, indeed, thanks for sharing that link. But have you got any references on your claim on the origins of polyphony? My understanding is that it is generally accepted to have developed globally, broadly speaking from homophony to heterophony to polyphony, in many different cultures.
- illiarian 4y agoAs example I prefer Trio Mandili's Apareka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbsQJBxICN0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbsQJBxICN0 and the "heavy version" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iybYK53pzYw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iybYK53pzYw :)

- tomcam 4y agoDamn my eyes. Upvote earned with prejudice
- epolanski 4y ago> The Georgians invented polyphonic singing. At best they have the oldest tradition of polyphony in church music. It's very difficult to trace the history of polyphonic singing as it developed independently along music in different parts of the world.
