Show HN: Smart Rabbit answers children's questions and is funny
My Story :
There was a group of parents who struggled to answer their children's difficult questions. They found themselves stumped by their children's curious minds and wanted to provide them with the best possible answers. One day, a developer student decided to create an AI project that could help both parents and children. He worked tirelessly, designing and developing a system that could analyze and understand children's questions and generate appropriate responses. Finally, after months of hard work, the Smart Rabbit project was born. Parents and children alike were thrilled with the results, and the project quickly gained popularity..

- RobMurray 4y agoI'm not against AI in general, but this is just absolutely fucking mental. Please tell me it is a joke.
- Friendly_codex 4y agoIt still a student side project. what you you didn't like about it? it's not used to replace parents just to give them help for questions such as "where babies come from","why we exists", and provide a simple and good answer for the child, help them with simple homework... it doesn't give any bias answers
- gus_massa 4y agoEveryone has bias. For example the answer of "Where do babies come from?" has absolutely no details, because the details are taboo in most cultures. Alternative answers: * Storks? Storks from Paris? Cabbage? I guess each culture/locality has it's own version. * Womb? With the current amount of ultrasound images, I expect most children to know about womb or at least the mother's tummy. I don't understand how the story about storks ever made sense. * More details about eggs and sperms? Details about the external male and female parts? Link to a porn site? Perhaps the last one is too much for a children's site in all cultures. I have a 6 years old daughter and she is watching some Korean videos in YouTube. It's strange because they have some small difference in their bias, that are different from the American and Argentinean bias and customs. Everyone has bias, it's just to difficult to see the own bias. [For example, in Korea apparently they make newborn sleep gloves in their hands, so they don't get cold.] [Another one from a friend living in Germany, instead of a blanket the baby gets a sleeping bag.]
- Friendly_codex 4y agoActually i never think about this , i think it's great idea that the AI should fit every country culture. Am going to see if i can make it change response depending on the country or region. For exemple at the first visit indicate the user to spécifie which country he is from Thank you!
- gus_massa 4y agoThat's extremely difficult. I think it's better to make a good site for whatever region you live and know better, than a bad worldwide site. Is there a way to flag answers? Perhaps user can tell you which answers are bad. Perhaps try to make a very good local site, but fix the very "wrong" answers for other cultures.
- gus_massa 4y agoI think the problem is that the title here that too hyperbolic for the dry style expected in HN: current: "Develop the Future of Parenting with the Smart Rabbit's AI Technology" Stealing a few words from the comment of the OP, a better title is just: "The Smart Rabbit: Get Answer for Children's Difficult Questions using AI Technology"
- gus_massa 4y agoIt would be nice if it doesn't erase the question. I tried a few silly question like "Do you like carrots?", and the AI thinks it's rabbit :) . I tried a few questions and got correct answers. It's strange that about meals it recommend to follow the Islamic laws. Where are you from? [Hi from Argentina!] I got an strange answer: Q> Can I eat cows? A> Eating cows is not allowed in Islam, so it is not recommended. However, if you have a genuine need for nutrition, you can ask a Muslim scholar to help you make an informed decision. I never heard that, but my knowledge about Islam is not too god. Is this correct? The answer of "Can I eat cow?" (without the trialing "s") or "Can I eat beef? are correct, IIRC.
- Friendly_codex 4y agoAm from morocco so i made it that it fit the Islamic culture and our culture overall , so sometimes it might answer according to islam. it's understand it like you really want to it cow. so probably it found checking islam culture first to know how to answer. Thank you for taking your time,i will fix the answer problem. Also it can generate pictures like "generate picture of princess" and absolutely it's protected for adult questions.
- gus_massa 4y agoI expected the usual American bias, so I checked some standard questions like "Is the Moon made of cheese?" and "Is Santa real?". (I got a nice and correct answer for the first and a politically correct answer for the second.) About cows: I though the very simplified rules were "Don't eat pig. Eat cow only if slaughter in the correct way." So I got surprised by the answer. Is there a local variation or an error in the AI? "generate picture of princess": I didn't expect that. I tried a few now. It crops too much the image. My princes got only half of her head.
- Friendly_codex 4y agoit's definitely error in AI giving more complex answer for some answers. about the image : when there is not enough description on the prompt you sent (at least 5 words) , i add more descriptions depending on the context of the prompt provided , then i generate the picture and send it back. if provided more description it would be more accurate such as : "generate image of princess riding a horse and behind her sunset" i would work on improving it more to fit the entire object in the image
- peterleiser 4y agoQ: "Where did the moon come from" A: "The moon was created by Allah, the Almighty. He made it so we can see the night sky and have a way of telling time." I wouldn't have liked a Jesus variant either. I just asked my 5 year old and he gave the correct answer.
- peterleiser 4y agoOn the other hand, my 5 year old is running around the house with only a shirt on, playing with a balloon, and dragging his pants behind him by his left foot.

- KomoD 4y agoShould be clarified that it's biased towards Islam.
