Ramadan shows up in Internet trends (2022)
- booboofixer 4y agoGoogle Maps could write a similar blog post, although it wouldn't be a long one. Here's what you can do to see something similar: - Pick a muslim country - Find a sports venue / field / track in google maps close to population centers - Scroll down to see if it's busy It will say "busier than usual" for all hours of the evening after people break their fast, for the whole month. Warrants a bit of tweaking of their algorithms?
- elashri 4y agoWhy would it be busier than usual? Muslims tend to pray special prayers (Traweeh) in Ramadan after iftar.
- booboofixer 4y agoAh true. Maybe the trend doesn't apply to all countries. For some the sports venues are busier, for some the mosques.
- whoibrar 4y agoI was having this discussion with a friend recently that the porn usage also drops significantly during various religious festivals. I don't have any firm data to back up my hypothesis but I did find one news article. https://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/indians-become-sanskari-during-religious-holidays-don-t-watch-porn-on-internet-356387.html https://www.indiatimes.com/news/india/indians-become-sanskar...
