Kraken refused compliance with NY crypto exchange protection rules. Kraken had to shut down (in the US) some aspects because they refused to follow SEC guidelines for protecting user deposits. Kraken has had to pay fines for unregistered margin trading. These are not the actions of a company following best practices for protecting depositors.
