EU and USA have their spats, but overall they share relatively similar values and have similar interests in maintaining the general status quo. Both are content enough with their position in the world to not go around fighting over territory. Lately they're also putting an effort into getting along well because any significant disagreement might bleed into the Ukraine war in some manner.
