absolutely terrible what these internet trolls did but this is also why no one in their right mind makes a public declaration of a family tragedy on a service like Twitter

Might as well be broadcasting to the world you're incompetent as the self-proclaimed journalist specializing in such things. The MSM has been full of headlines reporting on Billion-dollar lawsuits for this very thing for years now! You'd have to be living under a rock to be so ignorant, let alone be a journalist specializing in this space. You're either full of fail, or writing fiction, publishing the above two statements. Not to take away from the tragedy, it sounds like an awful thing to experience.

    > And you're doing, what, exactly? Criticizing a journalist for what they published in The Atlantic. Surely you're capable of seeing the difference. Edit: In case it's not obvious, I'm referring to things like Sandy Hook and the belligerent internet trolls who accosted the grieving parents, leading to Billion-dollar lawsuits. How can any journalist specializing in this space be unaware of that? Nothing to do with medicine/vaccines. I practically live under a rock myself and even I know about it.

  This guy injected his son with a novel vaccine that was developed and rushed out the door in less than a year. The kid then died. Can't say for sure what happened but obviously this journals is always going to be biased towards the view where he wasn't politically pushed to do something that killed his child. So there's really no reason to listen to what this person has to say about what he covers for a living. Truly a lost soul and I do feel sorry for him. Hope he can just move on and find something else to do with his life and career that doesn't involve fighting the internet.
