Meta failure at Metaverse will have a long term consequences for this idea. Now every company that will want to develop Metaverse will have to deal with this stigma.
I think that the first time I read about the idea of realizing Metaverse was in the book "Masters of Doom".

- jeffwask 4y agoSecondlife was doing this well before Zuck made the idea his and struggled ihn many of the same ways including the gold rush to 'own' parts only to realize there was minimal return even if it's just a pure marketing channel. The idea will take hold when someone can show a real way to monetize and derive value for the companies participating which will require having a user base before you start selling 'real estate' and expensive equipment.
