Outright banning something very specific is much simpler than creating regulation that's going to affect a whole industry.
The argument for creating regulation is not that it would be simple but that it would be comprenhensive.
- paulryanrogers 4y agoTechnically I don't think the legislature or FTC can cherry pick losers. Though I suppose that's the reason for all the discussion around the implications of allowing TikTok to continue in light of trade imbalances and alleged cultural subterfuge.
