Since the sudden apparent concern for users' privacy IMO casts doubt on the intent, I think discussion on this issue should start with determining whether we should take those concerns at face value. Is there a legitimate concern for privacy or is it just another form of economic warfare? Are the governments protecting you as an individual or are they protecting FAANG? There is little point in discussing this if we are all just pretending that it is an issue that it's not.
