The most detailed portrait yet of data breaches in Australia
- hislaziness 4y agoWhere can we find this type of data for other countries? The data here is from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
- andrewstuart 4y agoAustralia is just a bunch of open companies waiting for hackers to loot them. The “Minister for Cybersecurity” has absolutely zero qualification or experience that would make her suitable to lead such a ministry. She committed to make Australia the safest country in cybersecurity by “2030”, whatever the point of that is I cannot imagine. She committed also to “hack back the hackers”, a strategy so stupid and corny it makes me cringe. In the meantime Australian companies pop open to hackers like piñatas. The government, as always, talks big and does nothing. Medibank is Australia’s largest health insurer, and hackers took THE LOT, everything including health history of members. The Medibank Board ofDirectors responded by instantly giving themselves large financial bonuses.
