Somewhat off topic I wish C# had the permits mechanism like Java. It doesn't look like it is coming in the next 2 releases.

  Somewhat off topic too I wish IntelliJ never went down the path of gradle. For me gradle destroys most of the awesomeness that IntelliJ once was. All gradle projects regularly suck hours of aligning several different out of sync java (…) plugin versions. If you suffered the same you know exactly what I mean.

    You are probably holding it wrong. You should only ever be specifying the version of the Java plugin in one place.

    While Kotlin Multiplatform needs Gradle, for Java and Kotlin JVM projects IntelliJ supports Maven and the built-in build tool as well as Gradle.
