I'm faintly reminded of RFC1751 [1] (and the associated RFC1760 [2] that contains the relevant word list), a scheme I still see used in various products to quickly compare crypto fingerprints. (Although including the word "cock" on the word list may not have been the best idea, given how much it opens up the scope for humorous or offensive word sequences - but this was almost 30 years ago).
