They mostly inspire people to sit on the couch and eat unhealthy food and drinks with friends while watching on the TV. The amount of people watching is so so much higher than the people who get involved in any particular sport.

I didn't say anything about whether more people who watched sports were active versus passive. This doesn't invalidate my point that professional sports serve as a source of inspiration for people to be active. Esports inspire exactly zero people to be physically active.
- bleazoman 4y agoIt's impossible to play esports competitively if you aren't in a good physical and mental state. You can try but you will be playing way below your peak, to the point that it stops being enjoyable.
