ChatGPT is a powerful language model that can help us with a lot of tasks, but with great power comes great responsibility. That being said, what are your unpopular opinions about ChatGPT-4 and the plugins that come with it?

Do you think ChatGPT is being developed too quickly, and that OpenAI should slow down and consider the consequences of their work?
- sharemywin 4y agoI don't think they can slow down the genie is out of the bottle.
- muzani 4y agoIt comes down to the original purpose of OpenAI - to create safe AI before the next guy created unsafe ones. The thing is we are seeing lots of AI startups come out of nowhere. OpenAI is ironically one, but there's also Midjourney, etc, who are beating all these FAAMNGs with billion dollar budgets. The more progress one company makes, the faster everyone else goes. It's like how EV development was just a bit corp hobby project until Tesla came in. Plugins were already being unofficially developed. Same goes for ChatGPT APIs. There was originally a waitlist for the API. But bots somehow made it past the captchas.

- muzani 4y agoI don't think they've disclosed funding. But they're cash positive apparently.

- seydor 4y agoThe plugins are not needed. The program can generate commands to do the same things if it has control of the browser. All it needs is a browser extension. OpenAI will use the plugins to popularize its chat to userbases of other companies. Then it will close them down and use their own tech. Like how Facebook started with an open platform and then closed it off.
- akasakahakada 4y agoUseless plugin do not devalue the usefull ones like math or 3DCAD plugin.
- shanebellone 4y agoChatGPT is more comparable to a Reddit search than a source of truth.
