Ludwig's angina is life-threatening (not that one can reliably diagnose it from a scant blog post). Whether or not it had progressed that far, tooth abscesses are serious business because their sequelae are nasty. The connection between the illness and the post's overall message is perhaps strained, and I could see not wanting to see the message on HN.
