My understanding is that Bitcoin went up due to concerns over the health of the banking system. The issues with Coinbase, Do Kwon and Lyndsay Lohan have more to do with other cryptocurrencies being considered securities. Even Gary Gensler recognizes that Bitcoin is a commodity and not a security under the Howey Test. This is a clickbait article with low value content. I suppose I shouldn’t expect more from Fortune.com but one can always hope.
