I'm in the UK and they've always asked how many miles I expect to drive during the policy. I just bought a policy today and for the first time they asked if I drive during peak hours. This is not a black box policy - they can't directly monitor either of those variables. But if I make a collision claim then they will ask where and when it occurred.

The other year I put down 10K as rough estimate and after 4 months realized I'd already done 8K. Changing the policy to cover a more realistic 20K incurred an additional fee of something like £7. From this I reckoned mileage isn't a huge issue. Driving peak hours, as a risk factor, wouldn't surprise me at all given the general standard of driving by people who appear very anxious about being 30 seconds late to work.
