East Coast culture is kind of 'half-empty-cup-first' thinking, then the other party is expected to prove their point. Out here it's more like 'my cup runneth over!' then you say 'yeah dude, that is totally awesome'. (pause) 'BTW, have you thought about this little issue? I'm sure it's nothing, but you should have a good response in case some wanker VC brings it up..' then you gently drop da bomb that their idea is wildly unworkable. Very different cultures -- not just in hi-tech, this is a deep east coast/northern CA differential.
