There needs to be a strong strategic partnership between Google and Microsoft to build an alternative ecosystem to Apple. First class, native apps that work seamlessly across Android and Windows. A cohesive messaging strategy with apps and services extending across both. This should be a 10 year plan type of thing. It'll never happen because they won't be able to agree on which cloud these backend services will sit in.
