I don't want to sound naive, but I am at the point where I consider it unethical and inhumane to have children.
- helen___keller 4y agoFrom what perspective? It’s unethical to knowingly inflict suffering, but even if (economy/climate/etc) has a poor outlook, that doesn’t equate to suffering for your children (it’s possible to be happy while the economy sucks and the world is heating).
- carlosjobim 4y agoThen your rulers have successfully put you in the exact spot they wanted. Now stop wasting time on HackerNews and go be productive for your lords! There are profits, taxes and interest to be paid!

If birth rates collapse and the music stops, a whole lotta everyone is gonna be without chairs, not just the working folk.
- carlosjobim 4y agoThey don't need that many people, and there are already plenty. Birth rates have collapsed completely, and the people left will be those who are grateful for being allowed to even live - now that's much more comfortable than having an annoying populace talking about their rights and thinking they are equal to the lords.
