In theory your mind is a stage play where different voices take turns giving perspectives. There's never going to be a single infallible perspective on greatness--to believe this is to gaslight yourself.
The idea that a thing is "genuinely great" then is either:
1. Just an idea based on a single perspective or a limited perspective, and thus nothing is ever genuinely great
2. Defined so tightly (by you, in a conscious process of your own making) that any given thing can be great based on _ur favorite single perspective only_, without having to be great based on other perspectives, and still be genuinely great.
3. Some mix, like if you satisfy the most-likely-relevant perspectives.
So, if your favorite character in your mind's stage play just got done saying "write in all lower case, it's true to ur feels" and then your least favorite character gets on stage and is like "clean this all up, are you asking for help from other people or talking to yourself," it sets up an inner feeling of "me" vs. "me"...this will cause various outcomes and depending on the situation, some of those will likely be unwanted.
So I'd start with #2, work on your definition, deepen it, stay away from breadth and make it your own study. Then slowly find ways to integrate #3 over time.
This is a values-based perspective you're asking about, btw, which has its own set of pros / cons:
- Pro: If you find people who appreciate value, they'll listen to you and you can be a helpful consultant to them (some people prefer situational logic or even randomness over value, so it's not a universal want/need)
- Pro: You'll tend to be perceived as more authentic by people with whom you communicate
- Con: You may tend to perceive people who use "boxy language" or polite AI-style language as insincere, inauthentic, or just dishonest, which is not always the case. For example, this language is really good at helping people set professional boundaries without having to take every conversation super deep, so it's efficient and authentic to role-focused support in its own way.
- Con: There is often a hair's breadth of distance between "authentic" and "too focused on how great my own perspectives are"
- Con: Your inner "I don't wanna" can very easily and convincingly counter any logic, probability, etc., which can actively work against you an your life goals.
- Con: You will tend to get stuck writing in lowercase a lot, I know this cuz i been there
Just some thoughts & good luck.
