Are they? (Not sarcastic, I'm not native and I wouldn't pronounce them all that similar at first sight)
- dwringer 4y agoAs a native speaker, no, there's hardly any consensus I've seen about how to pronounce them. Certainly there are trends. But I pronounce Dalai somewhere between "Dah-lay" and "Dah-lie", and DALL-E sorta like Dolly ("Dah-lee"), but with a deliberate pause ("Dahl Ee").
