- tootie 4y agoIt was never an investment, it was a donation back when they were still nonprofit. He said they would never catch Google unless he ran the company, Altman and co refused, he took the ball and went home, then Altman and co beat Google on their own. They just needed to take actual investment and cease being a non-profit to stay funded.
