Restrict China
- throwaway4good 4y agoAbsolutely wild legislation and would (and should) cause a reciprocal bans against major US companies operating in China; Apple, Tesla, Microsoft, Intel, Walmart, KFC, Starbucks ...
- unity1001 4y agoCircumventing WTO rules by sanctioning countries and companies with the excuse of 'national security' is still a violation of the free trade principle and all the rules that a country has agreed to when it joined the WTO. At this point, what the US is doing cant be seen as anything else but anti-competitive, protectionist practice and all WTO members would react accordingly. This is not about the merits of free trade or protectionism. This is about the doublespeak that the US does. Many people dont know that even before this trade war, the US had 'import quotas' that limited the exports of even its closest allies to the US even as the US was incessantly forcing them to open their entire economy up to US companies without any restrictions.
