Another interesting use case - government training models on legislatively protected data (e.g. tax data). Lots of data the government holds is governed by confidentiality restrictions built into legislation, limiting its utility. Sounds like federated learning could be a way around that.
- tanto 4y agoAbsolutely, there are many cases where governments and generally large organisations can use Flower to internally train models on internal data silos. Often enough large organisations have all the incentives to utilize their own data but can't centralize it due to regulations.
