- roflyear 4y agoI wonder if "Open" AI will give us the name of the library that was ant fault.
- cmelbye 4y agoI was hoping a sleuth on HN or Twitter would have found it already (assuming OpenAI upstreamed the fix already).

- mellosouls 4y agoActual title should be the first line - @sama blaming an open source library for service issues provided by his multi-billion dollar "open" corp. "we had a significant issue in ChatGPT due to a bug in an open source library"
- nprateem 4y agoI got full on random responses to a jail break I used the other day. They clearly have caching/isolation issues.
- furyofantares 4y agoDoes pointing the blame in the direction of some open source library make any users more confident that it wont' happen again? I don't care why the bug exists, tons of bugs exist before you ship something, but I do care why you shipped it. If you lacked end-to-end testing, or other testing, say that, and make testing a higher priority - do and say anything that'll make me think it's less likely to happen again.
- blibble 4y agoreinforces my belief in their ability to control the first and second order effects of what they are unleashing upon humanity
- ozten 4y agoAll day today Twitter is redirecting to the homepage for any @Username URL that I try. Anyone else? (I am signed in, web) Workaround: Incognito requests routed correctly.

- mellosouls 4y agoOpenAI signups are allegedly exposing email addresses in a completely separate part of the service. [1] It's not clear yet which open source library this can be blamed on. I submitted a new post [2] as it's a new issue, and not yet confirmed, but perhaps the discussion belongs here.
