Pycon 2023 requires vaccine verification
- hanselot 4y agoThis will probably get buried asap. The sunken cost fallacy has never had higher stakes. The irony is that the vast majority of people with my perspective probably wish that they were wrong as well, but the evidence becomes more damning every day, while the media and hivemind continue trying to erase this evidence from existence. Its a surreal thought that so many people care more about being right than they do about over 50% of the planet's population being wiped out in the coming decades. Do you know how little solace there is to find in being right about this?
- wanttoshowdead 4y agoNevermind this comment, I just want to bookmark this and writing a comment seems like the only way to do so afaict.
- VagueMag 4y agoCompanies like "ShareMyHealth" have an excellent grift going, selling tools to implement pointless COVID injection mandates to soothe the irrational anxieties of software engineers who believe it will somehow make a difference in whether they catch a bad cold at the conference. Someone who still needs this to "feel safe" attending a conference in 2023 will probably need it for the rest of their life. Was disappointing to hear Monktoberfest praised for using this blatantly discriminatory snake oil on an episode of Oxide and Friends.
- raxxorraxor 4y agoMonty Python could have made something out of this. The advertising of such health platforms sound more than dubious to me. I don't know it and write very little python, but it certainly would keep me from attending similar events.
