I once built an S/PDIF interface on an FPGA for a personal project. It was then that I really, truly understood how much invaluable information is buried in archive.org. Lots of text heavy websites, some more than 10 or even 20 years old, meticulously crafted to contain a wealth of information.
Back then, those sites also tended to link to other sites with related information much more, and it was only through pasting these links into archive org that I found everything I needed.
And then there's the various manuals and magazines archived there as well.
Ever since, I have an auto-donation to archive.org, hoping to do my little part against the terrible loss of all that information (even if it's just loss of access).
