It's not like scientists were sitting there folding proteins by hand until AI came along... It was always computational.
- tinglymintyfrsh 4y agoWell, 20 years ago, that's basically how it was. Picking the folds of the structure, often by hand, and applying a fixed set of rules in a p-chem simulator by computer to see if it worked. AI produces the ability to automate the entire process.
- aquarium87 4y agoDoes it just find "the best option"? Or does the AI spit out hundreds of combos that scientists still have to create and try?
