Even at FAANG jobs, we hired contractors to translate things out of en-us, so that could be a factor for Google to get this out. Also everyone else’s point about limiting legal discussions. They’re probably using this data for training purposes and don’t want to deal with European laws. If they’re hosting the data in limited data centers, they may also have to deal with data locality laws.
