Microsoft is using already released products. ChatGPT and DALL-E have been in beta for a while.
- dragonwriter 4y agoBing was the first GPT-4 instance available (yes, ChatGPT was already out, but not using GPT-4, and even the direct interface from OpenAI was opened after Bing.)
- gl-prod 4y agoBingChat had _a lot of_ issues on the start. And it was built by the same company that made GPT-3.
- cubefox 4y agoThe GPT-4 in Bing Chat was fine-tuned by Microsoft themselves, which might its initially unhinged behavior. Only the ChatGPT+ GPT-4 was fine-tuned by OpenAI. Microsoft apparently just got the base model, and they have not as much know how regarding fine-tuning.
