Good brain dump.
This though: Bitcoin - "Let the IRS/FEDs be involved and stick to the law." You need to file under Things that will never happen. The U.S. will not permit a rogue currency.
- judegomila 15y agoThe disruption to the currency risk also applies to china, india, russia etc. By having information control upfront this could actually be a smart way for the US to dominate global currency.
- frisco 15y agoWhile they probably won't support a rogue currency, they may or may not support a rouge one.
- freyfogle 15y agoForget the US, focus on the rest of the world.
- tomjen3 15y agoWho is to say they will have a choice? I am not being cute here, but the power of any government is their monopoly on violence. That assumes, however, that the government knows whom they are up against. What if the next generation cryptocurrency was truly anonymous? Then you wouldn't be able to stop it, even if you wanted to.
- jhancock 15y agoperhaps. I enjoy watching the evolution of bitcoin. But I don't see the U.S. gov playing along.
