South Korea planned a 69-hour workweek. Millennials and Gen Z had other ideas
- pigtailgirl 4y ago-- yet everyone is against UBI - any version of socialism - women in the work force - robotics - want a country that has no natural resource - only technology and innovation as an export to think about number of hours in a work week as the answer - we are in trouble --
- qualudeheart 4y agoThis is a bizarre idea. Can’t SK cut down necessary work hours by automating? The South Korean state has incentive to do so, as then more people could join the military to keep North Korea in check.
- bediger4000 4y agoHow does an expected work week of 69 hours happen? That's something like 10 hours a day, every day, or 5, 12-hour days and 2 half days. Yikes.
- nequo 4y agoApparently in 2018 they reduced the legal limit from 68 hours/week to 52. Now "business groups" were lobbying to push it back to 69, in order to boost "productivity." The fact that those execs think that this would increase productivity is baffling. Is it them who are detached from what makes people "productive" or is it me?
