Hello HN!
Like many I am awestruck by the potential of GPT and other modern AI, including in improving developer productivity. I don't think they can be used standalone though - you still need a human in the loop, or at least a way to verify what's being generated.
This project is an experimental attempt to merge the creativity of ChatGPT with traditional project scaffolding tools and (hopefully) get the best of both worlds. The user input is processed by the AI which extracts important information/structure for the project (data models, etc).
This is then fed to the scaffolding engine which builds the project. This ensures that the project that gets build, is actually fully runnable code (ideally, that matches what you had in mind!)
This is still using gpt3.5-turbo model. I'm playing with gpt4 and the increased token size (8k or 32k) is game-changing. I hope to be including use of gpt4 in the future as it opens some new possibilities.
In testing so far, people have been impressed with what gets built. Yeah it's not a complete project in the "no-code" sense that you can just run as is, but it gets the ball rolling very quickly and people have been using it to brainstorm ideas for projects and seeing how that could be built.
