I wonder if this is to stop JetBrains from competing with whatever solution Microsoft will (presumably) bundle in Visual Studio.
- PaulWaldman 4y agoDoubtful. OpenAI, and Microsoft by extension, would gladly like to sell access to their APIs. Copilot, for example, is available for Jetbrains IDEs.
- karmasimida 4y agoBut do they want JB to create their own Copilot though? It is surely a possibility with OpenAI's API, that is what GitHub is doing anyway, building a layer upon essentially Codex models.
