Maybe the problem is that staff wants to learn cloud because they don't want to be left behind in the job market. So everyone pushes for cloud, even though it really won't be a benefit to the business itself.
I mean, what kind of CTO would you be if you didn't have a cloud project going on? Who would hire you if you got booted?

- manv1 4y agoIf you're a cloud denier it's better to have tried and failed ("it didn't work because it costs too much") than to have never tried at all ("The cloud...it sucks.")
- kevviiinn 4y agoOr I can easily look at the situation and see that it costs way more than just hosting on prem, you don't have to actually try something to estimate costs
