I wonder why the chat history isn't persisted in the browser storage and synced just for analytics. Having R/W access via API isn't privacy friendly.
If it was a security issue with users being able to access other user's history, that would be quite a misstep on OpenAI's success journey.
- rvnx 4y agoTo make it work across multiple devices. I often switch from desktop to mobile for example.
